Jack Lalanne - Face Workout 1 of 30

I love Jack LaLanne! I have his juicer, I love reading about his diet, his workouts and his attitude towards life. He has an amazing look on life and how to live a healthy life. I think if you want to have beautiful skin you have to take great care of yourself as well. What you put in is what you get out. I used to eat tons of fast food, a lot of processed foods and really eat late at night and not only is it really easy to gain weight but my skin was AWFUL! I slowly started working out and eating better little by little and I noticed huge improvements in my skin. I stopped eating fast food and started focusing on organic foods and step by step I moved into vegetarianism. Even when I started eating healthier I could really tell a difference in my skin. I wouldn't get breakouts but very, very rarely. Then, once I started doing a vegetarian diet my skin look amazing plus I felt amazing!!! I slowly moved into taking dairy out of my diet as well. I will still eat cheese on occasion or cook with very little if I need to (it's just something I love and really can't avoid so I eat it!) and I still love ranch dressing! Those are the two dairy items that I just can't live without! I still do eat fish but I think fish and those amazing oils are so good for you and your skin that fish definitely needs to be apart of my diet! Not only do I eat fish but I also take a swig of this every day:

This is Carlson's Cod Liver Oil. I know it sounds really gross but it's good for you and if you really want to take care of yourself you gotta just do it! It is lemon flavored so that helps and truthfully you just take a tiny swig and then chase it down with orange juice in the a.m. and you'll be set! This oil really helps me skin glow and it's really good for you! I also do take fish oil, flax oil, phyto hair vitamins (I'll write about those another day!!), glucosamine, a women's daily vitamin, biotin, b-complex and a greens supplement. I take them throughout the day because you really have to watch out with which ones you can take together and what not so I split them up and really take a few throughout the day. But-I do have to eat something when I take them because they make me nauseous! I'm pretty sure I take more but I can't remember what they are...I'll write about that some time too because I really research what I need to take and what's necessary and what is not. So-you don't have to take all those but like I said earlier-what you put in your body shows on the outside. If you want pretty skin you have to take care of yourself! I do Jack Lalannes facial workouts too. I don't do everything he does and I DEFINITELY do them in the privacy of my own home!!! But it makes sense, you gotta keep those muscles moving!!

I love trying new things in skincare but these are a few things that I must have! I can tell when I have these items in my skincare regimen because my skin looks its best when I use these items!

This cleanser is gentle and really gets the dirt off! This item is a must have! Some nights when I don't need to, or want to use an active cleanser then I will still use this wash in its place. This cleanser has no active ingredients so you can use it all the time and you don't have to worry about over-stimulating your skin. This fabulous sudsy wash really gets the dirt out and you'll end up with an amazing deep-clean! When I go on vacation I always buy a travel size and that's all I use. It's safe to use if you're out in the sun constantly but it's strong enough to clean off all that sweat, sand, and dirt from the beach! I love this product!

I LOVE this toner!!!! I know it's called a Cleansing Lotion, but it is used as a toner. I get the pressed cotton rounds to use this toner and it works wonders! After I cleanse my skin I will simply wipe this all over my face, neck, chest and where ever I can reach on my back and the back of my neck. This toner gives you an amazing tingly-fresh feel and it gives you that extra swipe of deep clean. Even after you wash your face there can be bits of dirt left on your skin because your hands cannot clean all that dirt off alone. So, I use this cleansing lotion and it will just give you that extra dose of clean. Plus, seaweed is an amazing nutrient for your skin so that will never hurt!

This is a pricey serum but it's waaaaay worth it! This serum gives you a healthy dose of vitamin C, vitamin E and ferulic. This serum will help prevent and repair age spots, sun damage, any type of hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and really can help all skin issues. If you don't have any wrinkles or hyperpigmentation yet or if you already have skin damage this is for you! Skin Ceuticals does amazing research with their products and once you read up on their research you can't deny the power of these products! I love this serum it's pricey but it is worth it to really help maintain or repair your skin!

I love this moisturizer! I love shopping at Trader Joe's!!! There are some amazing foods and I really enjoy shopping there but I always tend to walk right past the bath & body section. So, one day I decided to really enjoy my shopping experience and really look at everything in the store and I fell in love with their beauty products! (I'll write more about a few other treasures I found there later!) I always love finding a good, easy moisturizer for the morning so it was around $2.50 and I thought, "Hey, let's give it a try!" I did, and I love it!!! It's light, it doesn't break me out and it's waaaaay affordable!

This face wash is AMAZING!!!!! This is the first thing I ever bought when I started working at The Cosmetic Market four years ago and it is still a must have! This face wash has stayed a constant in my life and I really cannot live without it! I suggest this face wash to about 99% of my clients that I have because it really is effective but gentle! When I first started using this face wash my skin needed MAJOR help but just by using this face wash it changed my skin completely! I will usually wash my face with it 1st to remove all makeup, I even remove my eye makeup with it but PLEASE make sure that you keep your eyes closed!!!! This will burn baby burn if you get it in your eyes! If you tend to get stuff in your eyes when you wash your face just get you a cheap makeup remover like Mario Badescu's Make up remover it's only $6! So, I wash my face 1st just to remove eye make up and take off the top layer of dirt. Then, I dry my eyes and lips and keep the rest of my face damp. I sit up and do one more pump of this cleanser and I massage this cleanser for the 2nd time all over my face for a minute or two. This cleanser tingles and it really deep cleans! This cleanser is an active cleanser because it contains glycolic acid which is derived from sugar cane. Glycolic acid is a very small molecule so it can go really deep into the skin and help pull up a lot of dirt and debris. So this cleanser majorly deep cleans, exfoliates to help lighten hyperpigmentation and smooths fine lines and wrinkles. This cleanser covers everything from acne to aging! Love, love, love it!!

Night Time Toner:

Mario Badecu's Glycolic Acid Toner

You would use this just like you would the Seaweed Toner. Now you don't have to have two separate ones for day and night. I just like to take care of different issues day and night. This toner will take care of extra deep cleaning since it has glycolic acid in it. You don't have to worry about this being a glycolic overload if you use it with the glycolic cleanser. This one is very gentle! But if you have very sensitive skin or you don't want to worry about buying two different toners I would definitely suggest getting the seaweed cleansing lotion. I will use the glycolic toner after I cleanse and I will use however many cotton pads I need to get it clean. Some nights I will go through 4 or 5 cotton pads. You don't have to do that but I really like to make sure I get all the dirt off! If you use a toner you will see how much dirt and makeup stays on your skin even after you cleanse.

This is an amazing skin treatment for all skin types!! This is more of a gel texture and it has micro-encapsulated retinol in it. Retinols are a form of vitamin A. Retinols are usually very harsh on your skin. Retinols help "trick" your skin into thinking that it needs to be healed. When your skin is wounded and needs to heal it will produce more cells which means nice plump skin! So that's kind of the idea of retinols. So with that, retinols tend to be really harsh on the skin so most people either don't follow through with retinols or they won't keep using them once they're done with their first round of treatments. The nice thing about micro encapsulated retinol is that your skin does not have to damage itself to get cell turnover. I use this almost every night, usually more like every other, and I can't even tell that I'm using retinols! This product will really help keep my skin smooth, help rid my skin of lines and wrinkles, keeps blemishes away and really keeps my skin tone even. I love this product! It's a great product to have if you want to start working on your skin for preventative reasons or if you need to go ahead and start working on wrinkles and damage that is already present. ***If you use this or any other type of retinol please do NOT get waxed!!! Stay off of it for 5-7 days before you get waxed and at least 4-5 days after! Also!!!!! Use your sunscreen!!!***

This moisturizer is great! I love that the first ingredient is aloe! So, not only is this moisturizer fantastic but it's also soothing! The feel is light and almost a lotion/gel if I could describe it. I tend to be more dry-normal but I still love this one. It still gives me the perfect amount of moisture and even my husband loves it! He is more prone to breakouts and I'm more prone to dryness but we both love it and works well for both of us so you can see how versatile it is. This jar will last you forever as well!!! Sometimes I will use this one in the morning and then I will put on the Therapy Systems Oil-Free S.P.F. on top of that. This is one amazing moisturizer for all skin types! I love that it won't break you out because it is so important to hydrate your skin day and night and some people don't want to because they're afraid it will break them out but you won't have to worry about this one!!!

I love this eye cream!!!! This eye cream does it all! It helps for puffy eyes, dark circles and fine lines and wrinkles! I love this eye cream because you can put a tiny bit on and it keeps your eyes beautiful! I can put it on in the morning and it won't mess up my makeup and I really love it. I also love the ingredients! This eye cream has peptides which help keep the wrinkles at bay, licorice which is a natural skin lightener so that will help with dark circles and then there is a natural draining affect with the eye cream so puffy eyes are gone! I also love the smell! There is neroli oil in it and the smell is amazing! In the morning the neroli oil wakes up my eyes and at night that feel of it really helps calm them after a long day.

Okay! There you have it! I know it seems like a lot but this is your skin people! It is so, so important to take care of your skin! I have tried so many things and I hate that things can be pricey but these things work!!! They are tried and true from yours truly :) I hope you enjoy!

Self Tanning Time!

Spring has sprung and it's time to have a nice glow! I am going to show you a few higher end products and a few affordable drug-store products as well.

Neutrogena MicroMist Airbrush Sunless Tan $8.99

This spray mist is really great. But-it will choke you to death if you are in a small room spraying yourself!!! I will usually spray this on after I have put a self-tanning lotion on and let it set in. I rarely use this product. I only use it around the day before a big event. It does a good job but it does run out pretty fast.

Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer $8.50

This is a fantastic product!!! I love this one because usually self-tanners dry you out and you can't put a moisturizer on for the first 6-8 hours of applying a self-tanner so your skin gets really dehydrated. This one is great because it gives you your daily dose of moisture as well as giving you a nice healthy glow. You can put this on every day and not look orange. I am very fair and I apply this almost every day and it really just gives you a nice glow. Since it is a foam a little goes a long way so this product lasts a really long time! I love this one! Another good point is that it dries really fast so you can get on with your day.

Jergens Natural Glow Healthy Complexion Daily Facial Moisturizer $8.50

I love this product as well!! And to be honest with you, even though I am very fair I usually go for the medium to tan color in all the Jergens products. It still gives you a natural glow and still gradually gives you a beautiful, natural tan. I love this products because once again, self-tanning products tend to dry you out and this product gives you your beautiful glow and also gives your skin a drink of hydration. This product does not break me out at all!! I love this product as well because it has your s.p.f. 20 in it too so you're protected from the damaging sun. Your face will not hold onto self-tanner as long as your body so applying this every day will give you a nice glow.

Jergens Natural Glow Firming Daily Moisturizer $8.79

This product is fantastic if you're looking for a nice, natural glow. This will really give you a very soft look, nothing too dark. This is a great one to put on every day and it also firms! The smell is great and you can put it on every day! This product lasts a long time and will gradually give you a very natural tan. It does take a little time to dry but it's a great daily product that will give you a really natural glow.

Model Co. Tan in a Can $42

This is one heck of a spray tan!! We will use this at work right away if we notice we look too pale. It smells like cotton candy and dries fast. This one is worth the money!! This product is fantastic and I really love it! The only issue with spray tanners is that they run out so quickly but I only use this for special events. I apply self-tanning lotions, creams, foams all those things daily but I only use the spray tans when I am going somewhere important. So-this one is worth the money!! I apply it by using the Jergens Foaming Moisturizer first, I let it dry, then I will spray this one in circular motions and then rub it in all the way. Sometimes if you just spray aerosol cans and let them dry they can be a little splotchy so I like to spray a little and then rub it in so it looks even and natural. This Tan in a Can has a clear and an instant bronze spray. I like the instant bronze because you can see where you're applying.

Now St.Tropez is one of my favorite higher-end self tanners! We just got a bunch of new products in from this line so I am not familiar with a bunch of the new products but I will try them out and let you know what I think about them! I'm sure I will LOVE them!

St.Tropez has a self-tanning lotion, mousse, and spray and they are all amazing! These products range from $35-$40. A little goes a really long way in this line and this line is amazing because if you have a hard time not getting a natural look from self-tanners then this is the one for you!! I always get an amazing glow from this one and it looks very natural. These are great products to get when you need a good glow fast!

St.Tropez also has gradual tanning products. These are great if you just want to build a beautiful color within about a week. The gradual tan also has lotions, mousse, and sprays as well. The St. Tropez tanner for the face is AMAZING!!!

Finding the perfect self-tanning products are just as important as how to apply them!!! I always will exfoliate in the shower first. Make sure that you are nice and dry before you apply your self-tanner. On a normal day I will just use either the hydrating foam from Jergens or the firming moisturizer from Jergens. I would just apply one of those products on a normal day. If I need a nice glow for an important event I will apply a spray tan after I let my tanning lotion or foam dry. Once a week I will exfoliate and start all over again. You don't want to keep applying self-tanner over and over again. You need to start over once a week and slowly build back.

Like Butter!

So I have been wanting to write about this AMAZING nail polish line called Butter London! Butter London is proud to be 3-free, which is no formaldehyde, toluene, DBP or parabens. I like that this line does not use these toxins in their polish because most of the time when you have a rash or some sort of reaction on your face and skin, it's usually because of your fingers touching that area and irritating it because of the harsh chemicals that are found in regular nail polish. I also like it because I can use it on my nails and know that I am not going to irritate anybody's skin!

Here's a little history about the line-

The creators go to Fashion Week in New York and London and work with top designers to create some amazing colors on the spot! They have worked with Alexander Wang, Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein, Victoria Beckham and Pringle. So this is definitely a high-fashion nail line!

Butter not only does nail lacquer but they have AMAZING nail treatments! I have an awful habit of biting and picking at my nails (I've had this awful habit since I was 5) so my nails look pretty awful...until I found this little beauty:

This is Butter London's Horse Power. They call it your nail "fertilizer." I love it! You're supposed to apply one coat every day for 7 days. It goes on so think and it makes my nails so hard even after the first application that I couldn't imagine trying to bite my nails after putting this stuff on them! I have tried every trick in the book to quit biting my nails and nothing worked but this!! This Horse Power not only strengthens your nails but it makes them grow like a weed! Within one day I swear I noticed a difference. I used Horse Power in conjunction with this:

I use this product before I do my Horse Power but it's whatever you want to do. All you do is put this right around the edges of your nails and let it set for about 2 minutes. Then you get a little nail scrubber and it completely removes all the dead skin around your nails and looks like you got a manicure in your own home! After I use the Melt Away I will paint my nails with the Horse Power and then I add this finishing touch:

This is Butter's Handbag Holiday Cuticle Oil. It smells better than any other cuticle oil I have every used and I honestly believe it is one of the reasons that my nails grow as fast as they do. So, if you can't spend the money to buy all 3 of the Butter Nail treatments at least get the Horse Power and the Handbag Holiday. they are definitely a must!!!

This stuff is amazing!!! I always have a hard time finding a color of nail polish I like because the color always changes on me but with this Nail Foundation I never have to deal with that problem ever again!! This is an amazing base coat and it also creates a nice flesh-tone to your nails so the color you see in the nail polish bottle is the color you get on your nails! I love, love, love this stuff!!!

Hair!!

I am going to update about that Neutrogena concealer I have been using. I previously wrote about this 3-in-1 eye concealer. The pro to this concealer was that it had a moisturizer, concealer and an s.p.f. I like that, but the con was that it didn't conceal as much as I liked and it was really only meant for the eyes and I used it everywhere and I think that has caused me to break out. I love makeup more than most and I don't even want two concealers so I know most people won't want to have to deal with an eye concealer and a separate concealer for the face. So I'm back to using my good 'ol standby concealer-Better Than Cover. It's just amazing, it lasts a long time, and it really conceals. You can get it at The Cosmetic Market-www.thecosmeticmarket.com

Okay, back to my subject header--Hair!!! I have just tried some new hair products that I love!!! This is a new, local line from Nashville, TN and it's amazing! The line is called The Back Bar and it's really great! They have already had a Clarifying Shampoo that is amazing! You don't want to use this Clarifying Shampoo every time you wash just about once a week or so. This Clarifying Shampoo will really deep clean your hair and get rid of all that other junk that you put on your hair. This shampoo also contains glycolic acid so it will give your scalp a great exfoliation. It's really fantastic!

The new shampoos and conditioners have really got me excited though!! My hair is large and crazy and dry and I need help with my hair!! There are 3 different types of shampoos and conditioners-smoothing, volumizing and hydrating. I have used hydrating and smoothing. I really love both and I even mix and match them. I first used the smoothing shampoo and conditioner. At first I really hated the conditioner because it does not feel really silky and smooth so I just gave up and went ahead used another conditioner. I gave up before really even going through with it! Well I go into work talk about how much I love the shampoo but wasn't a big fan of the conditioner and all the girls couldn't stop talking about how great the conditioner was. They told me that yes, it's weird but you have to just trust that it's working and yes, it will feel weird applying it and washing it out but just trust that it's working and once you comb through your hair you'll love it! So the next time I shampooed my hair I used the Smoothing Shampoo and then I used the Hydrating Conditioner and it was amazing!! The Hydrating Conditioner isn't as slick and heavy as most other conditioners but I just let it set for about 2-5 minutes, rinsed it out, towel-dried my hair, and then once I combed it out I loved it! When I dried my hair I really loved it. It made my hair so slick and smooth and my hair is usually crazy!!! I usually use Moroccan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and I use the Moroccan Oil after my hair is towel dried but I haven't used any Moroccan Oil products in almost 3 weeks!!! I still love that line but I felt like I had to use heavy products to keep my hair tamed and after using the Back Bar products I realized my hair can be nice and smooth without putting heavy silicones on it! So, I loved the combo of Smoothing Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner. So, the next time I washed my hair I used the Hydrating Shampoo and the Hydrating Conditioner...LOVED IT!!!! The smell is really nice that both men and women would love it too! It really helps my hair if I want it to go curly or straight it really is amazing!! I usually have very large, frizzy, dry hair and this really calmed it down and made it look tame! Okay, so the last time I washed my hair I used the Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner and it's just amazing! I usually don't get a lot of compliments on my hair because it's usually crazy but ever since I started using this line I have gotten compliments from friends and random strangers!! I have not used the volumizing because I don't think I need it but all the girls at work that want volume, they have used it and they say that's their favorite out of all of them! Regardless-there is a shampoo and conditioner in this line for everyone and just remember-the hydrating and smoothing conditioners are not super-heavy and thick but just let them set for 2-5 minutes and then rinse. When you comb your hair you will realize it's worked really well! Since I have a lot of hair the way I apply the conditioner is that I will pour some conditioner in the palm of my hand and then kind of evenly disperse it through my hair by starting from the root and moving down to the ends in sections. I also get a little extra and put right on my ends and then just let it set for about 2-5 minutes. Okay you can get the Back Bar line at The Cosmetic Market as well and it's amazing!!!! New Makeup Finds!!

Okay, I went to Target and of course spent too much money but I did buy a few makeup products that I have to write about!! So I ran upon a few things that must be discussed!

Revlon CustomEyes Mascara

This mascara is amazing!!! I am a huge mascara girl and I am really picky with mascara. I have used L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara for years and years now and I really love it! But-I think this is my new favorite one!!! It's called CustomEyes because at the base of the wand there is a 1 and a 2 and the 1 is to help define and lengthen lashes and the 2 is to really add volume and drama. I will usually put #1 on in the morning and then if I have somewhere to go after work I will use the #2 notch and I love it!!! I really like this mascara because it add definition and volume without being so clumpy. I really do not have to deal with clumps at all! I really love this new mascara definitely worth a try!!!

Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow

This eyeshadow palette is amazing!!!!! If you don't feel confident about applying eyeshadow then this is the eyeshadow for you! On the back of the palette it gives you exact directions on how to put each color on the lid. I think the colors are amazing and in the palette it even has an eyeliner. I wasn't so sure about these eyeshadows when I first bought them but I thought it was definitely worth a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! I really like them I bought the smokey sexy palette and the rich temptations palette. I love both of them! They have a few more colors that I want to go out and pick up right now!! I really love these you should go buy yourself a CustomEyes Mascara and a new CustomEyes Shadow Palette!!!

New Concealer test

Ok I was looking around at the local drug store and needed a concealer so I decided to give it a try and report back to you guys! I really like a nice concealed under eye almost boarder line raccoon but I can't help it. I think the perfect use of concealer would be Kim Kardashian. It lightens and brightens are entire face and really looks amazing. So I have always been on the quest for a great concealer. I have found a few fantastic ones but I am I trying to find one under $15. I saw a concealer at the drug store that really caught my eye. It was Neutrogena 3-in-1 concealer for eyes. This concealer is an eye cream, under eye concealer, and an s.p.f. for the eye area. This really caught my interest because it is rare to find a good, cheap under eye s.p.f. so I thought this would be a great new test to try! Unfortunately they didn't have the lightest color for my pale skin but I went for the next shade available. I am trying to convince myself that it's the color that doesn't work because I really, really wanted this eye concealer to work but it just doesn't. Even with the shade darker it really just matched my skin tone but when I get an under eye concealer I like to go a tad lighter than my skin tone. But even with the matching concealer, it still doesn't conceal quiet to my liking. My other issue is I like to use my concealer all over my face and this one really is specifically for the under eyes. But that's just me being picky. Since I have yet to find an amazing under $15 concealer let me give you my higher-priced picks.

You can use it all over your face and I do! I look like I have drawn all over my face and then you barely blend it in. I just lightly blend it to the skin and then I throw a loose powder all over my face and it looks great! It's in a chapstick form so it's easy to apply and it is 70% organic. This concealer also has acai and green tea. It's definitely a top pick for me!

This concealer is amazing! It gives me the exact coverage and look that I want but my only problem is that it doesn't wear too well. After a couple hours I will look and it looks like it kind of get in the lines a bit and then it doesn't stay on very well! I feel like I run out of this in less than a month and the Better Than Cover lasts so long I can't even remember how long I had it because it lasts so long. But overall really good coverage. You should try both for yourself to see what you think!
