Limited Edition Beauty

I wanted to write about a special day today. Today was the launch of the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection!! It is a limited edition collection all inspired by Marilyn Monroe and its amazing!

This collection really captures Marilyn's beauty, sex appeal, and glamour. The collection goes from demure vixen to sex kitten. All the packaging has these beautiful pictures capturing Marilyn during The Black Sitting.

There are 4 eyeshadows: How to Marry, Showgirl, Silver Screen, and Preferred Blonde.
The colors range from a champagne, a light frosty pink, a charcoal gray, and a smokey blue/gray.
Since they're from MAC the pigments are amazing and the eyeshadows are creamy and they apply wonderfully. $21
The lipsticks were a HUGE hit today!

These lipsticks are stunning and really captured Marilyn's timeless beauty.
The colors are named perfectly-Pure Zen, Scarlet Ibis, Love Goddess, Deeply Adored, Charmed I'm Sure. They range from a beautiful sparkly nude to a deep red. All these will bring out your inner Marilyn, especially the reds!! $16.50
To go with these Hott lipsticks are their lip liners in Redd, Cherry, and Beet.$16.50

The Dazzleglass Lipglosses come in 2 colors, Little Rock and Phiff! They both are beautifully, sparkly colors. One is more clear, Little Rock, where Phiff has a nude shimmer to it. $21.50
There are 2 blushes, Legendary (a Multi-faceted pink) and The Perfect Cheek (a matte light pink) $22 They are both a very light pink that would really brighten and soften any skin tone. They're both beautiful.
Marilyn Beauty Powder is a beautiful pearl peach that you can use to highlight or use overall and really adds a glow. $28

The nail lacquer colors are Flaming Rose, Kid Orange, Rich, Rich, Rich, Vintage Vamp, and Stage Red. $17.50 I love these colors because Marilyn always had her nails painted and these colors truly capture her style.

The line has other items like mascara, eye liners, brow makeup and false lashes that are not limited to this collection but definitely round out the entire look.
Here's some personal photos from today of my "Marilyn Madness" experience.

This is our eye catching display of the Marilyn collection!

These two are of me wearing the MAC Marilyn collection lipstick in Pure Zen and Dazzleglass in Phiff! I could not get a very good picture of the color because it's just a really beautiful nude with a great shimmer that you can't capture on camera. But I thought, "hmm, I bet me going up in the elevator will add great natural light to show off the color." And then this awful picture happened-

I got blinded!!!! So, picture didn't work out too well but it was so darn funny I just had to show it.
Here is the nail polish I got in Kid Orange

Quality photos we're dealing here right?? I love Coco in the background, I'm sure she's going to steal the show.

This line is flying off the shelves so go check it out quick!! Go find your inner Marilyn!

Shopping Haul

I went shopping with my awesome mother today. She is the cutest thing in the world! Check her out!

This is from my wedding. It's me and my sweet mom with my best friend Brittney. She came all the way up to Indiana with her little baby and husband right after Christmas to see me get married. Her being there means more to me than words can express. I love these two so much!!!

Ok back to the blog, now that you have a face to my sweet mom, we went shopping today!! I love fashion, it makes my world go round. But-I don't have money for all designer duds. Well, I could but I'm sure a bill wouldn't get paid eventually. So instead of ruining my credit and getting my water or electricity shut off, I choose to find great deals on fashionable items.

I'm trying to set up a budget with my husband and I have been reading a couple blogs I've found on Pinterest about budget tips. I'm all for planning out bills and divvying out a certain amount of money a month on times but when they said to start going to Goodwill and sewing your own clothes!!!! That was IT!!! (I almost started cussing at the computer) I love a great vintage find but I have to dress super put-together at work and look very fashion-forward and I think rockin my cute, floral vintage dress just ain't gonna work there. Save it for the weekend!

So, for work I have to play it safe, fashion-forward, but more put together. So when my mom mentioned she had an additional 30% off of anything at Kohl's and wanted to know if I wanted to go I was like, "heck yeah! I love shopping and saving a little extra dough always helps!" I didn't really say that but I'm sure that went on in my brain.

Here is what I'm loving and really sticking with when it comes to fashionable, but professional clothing...that won't make you cry when you look at the price tag. All these items are from Kohl's.

I am loving the billowy, sheer blouse with a nice cigarette leg pant. LOVING this style!!! So that's kinda what's going on right now.

This is a high-low chiffon top by Candie's original price was $42, I got it for $28

I just got this pair of pants in navy blue. They are similar to the ox blood pants I wrote about from Target. I just love them so much that when I saw some more colors in this style I went for it! Like I said the ones I got were navy blue. These were originally $40, I got them for $28.

The next item I'm going to show, well I can't. I can't find it on the Kohl's website but I have wanted this Max Azria leather jacket for a loooong time but it is a little pricey. Good news is, it's on sale!! bad news is, it's still $300!! I have also searched for similar ones but nothing is close but this cute little jacket from Kohl's is surprisingly close and super cheap! Here's my inspiration:

The one I got from Kohl's was originally $60, I got it for $42. I don't care if it's not Max Azria, or leather. It's cute and I could buy tons more because I have extra money to spare!! I'll post a picture of me in it so y'all can check out the cuteness of this great jacket soon!

Next up were some quality leggings. These were from the Lauren Conrad collection I'm not going to post them because they are simple black leggings. What is different from these is that they have a nicer, thicker material so they don't have that see-through situation going on. They were originally $20 but I got them for $10.

Another piece from the Lauren Conrad collection were these 2 adorable shirts!!!

Both kinda similar but still completely different! Both were originally $44, got them for $27.

Next were these leggings from the juniors department. I am loving little touches of faux leather, so when I saw these I had to get them!

These are by the juniors brand Stooshy and they have faux leather trim on the legs like a tuxedo pant. Love them!! These were originally $36 and I got these babies for $20!

Here's a couple other things I am loving!!!

Once again, another chiffon blouse. This one is my Lauren Conrad as well. It's on sale for $27 too!

I really loved this purse as well. I am loving cross-body bags right now and this one comes in black and gold. I am loving the gold!! It's originally $79 but it's on sale right now for $47! I might have to go back and get the top and they purse!

All this is at Kohl's. my mom has a Kohl's card so she got an additional 30% off all the sale prices too. That's why I love Kohl's. you get tons of fashion-forward pieces for a really reasonable price and they are always on sale on top of that!! I think everything I have ever gotten from there was cheaper than I thought it was!! Kohl's always has good quality clothing too. I hate buying items that fall apart after washing them!! My clothes from here actually hold up really well. I will say I like to see the clothing items in person because sometimes they don't translate online. But go check them out!!

Testing out some fall trends

Here's a pic of my trying out some of the trends I just blogged about! This is the Cara necklace from Nordstrom I got. I am LOVING it!! I got so many complements on it! I even sold a few for the accessories department today! Well today I wore it with a $20 Target sweater by the Merona brand. It's just a simple crew neck black sweater. My pants were from Target too they were the Mossimo Ankle pants in fit 3. I have 5 pairs in this line and fit. They are amazing!! They have such a classic fit and they're only $25!! So I just went the all black route and then wore the collar. I was looking a little Wednesday Addams but whatever.

The lip I'm wearing in Giorgio Armani in Rouge d'Armani 400 and Gloss d'Armani 400.

I thought I would show one of my looking happy since I really do look like Wednesday Addams...
These two colors look amazing together or separate and it stayed on all day and was so creamy!!! Beautiful, rich colors!! Check them out!! Worth the extra bucks!

The bold and the beautiful

Today I just want to focus on one trend I'm loving-ox blood! I think this shade is going to be big this fall/winter season!

I wrote a little about this in yesterday's blog but I wanted to go in depth on this trend in particular. I love it! I love the color, I love the subdued pop it brings and the impression it makes. It's something warm and different than the past fall/winter trends.

I am loving these pants from Target in this color and they are so comfortable!

Yes, yes, I know they are not in the color I'm even blogging about but it won't show the pants in that color. Sorry!! I have these in the ox blood red color and I really want them in the black too because they fit so well and look great!!! Plus, they're only $20!!! What a steal!

Here's some more ways I'm doing the ox blood red-

Here's my big 'ol feet and long toes but-they are painted an ox blood red color by Jessica. I do not know the color because at the nail salons all the names are off but this is by the brand Jessica. Of course I smudged my color so I ran to Target to pick up a similar color. I got Essie's skirting the issue and it looks great! Touched up the top of both of my big toes and then I painted my nails in this color. Check it out

It's hard to tell on the toes because the picture is so dark but it really is a deep red. But you can tell it's much deeper than the nails. I really like the Essie color a lot!! It is so pretty!

Painting your nails this color is a great way to go for the trend but not go crazy if you're not too sure about it.

Here's a top from Forever 21 for $25-love it!!

This beautiful dress is from asos for $38! It has the "it" color and the collar! A twofer! (Two-for-one, if you're not from the south)

So go check out something in ox blood red and try it out! I think you'll be hooked like me!!

Lots of love,

Andy

Collars, and leather, and prints.Oh my!

I love fashion! I really, really do! I love reading about other blogger's adventures and seeing their sense of style and seeing what clothes they put together. The only bummer is sometimes it can be intimidating following these bloggers because they're out at fashion week (dream of mine, never gonna happen) and they're wearing these beautiful Chanel flats (another dream of mine, never gonna happen) and they have all these awesome labels and it's just not realistic to me. So I try my best to wear awesome looking (affordable) clothes on the brink of what's hot and just fake it til you make it!

So here's a little blog about some fall trends I'm predicting. I just watched the red carpet from the Emmy's (yes, I know it's almost been a week since the Emmy's. I've been busy!). I noticed lots of beautiful colors on the red carpet that I think will be big for fall. Ox blood is going to be a big color.

Here are a few of my faves from the red carpet

LOVE!!! I'm pretty sure the two dresses on the sides are J. Mendel the dress in the middle is Vera Wang.

I love gem tones will be big like this blue

These are BEAUTIFUL pants in that gem blue color. These are from Target and I really love these pants. I already have 4 pair in different colors. They come in so many beautiful colors that will be huge for fall! They fit and look amazing! And-they're only $25!!

And this beautiful mustard yellow

Love this dress from H&M! I have a cotton dress in this color from there as well, different style but I'll post it on here soon!

Some other trends I'm loving are leather!! I think bits of leather here and there is going to be huge!! But this year there will be very feminine touches of leather.

Trouvé Metallic Long Sleeve tee $38

Trouvé faux leather sleeve tee $88-love this one!!! Want it so bad!

Trouvé paneled faux leather leggings $68 I have these and LOVE them!!

Trouvé faux leather Bibb top $68

These are all from Nordstrom. This skirt is in the B.P. section for around $36. Pretty sure I'm going to buy this tomorrow!

I really want this skirt from the new Target line, Kirna Zabete but, it's sold online only and it's sold out...bummer.

Another beauty from the Kirna Zabete line from Target is this

This is $45 and I love it!! You can layer it and wear tights it would be so cute!!! I can see the outfit now!

These are from the same Target line for $30 or so. I was so excited about buying these babies but when I got there I was a little disappointed in the quality of the faux leather. I'm a little concerned with the faux leather skirt from Target as well but I liked the length better than the one from Nordstrom. But the one from Nordstrom looks good and not as cheap.

Next trend is collars. I love collars!!! I just bought this and I am completely obsessed!! I'm trying to make sure I don't wear it every day because I love it so much!

These are both from Nordstrom by Cara $34

I have the one and cream and I love it!!! It will jazz up any plain 'ol sweater or top!

This top has an embellished collar but you can't tell from this picture. This is from the Rock & Republic line from Kohl's and it's on sale for $17!!! Woooo! I have this and love it!!!
Here's a couple of snaps of me in it and my best friend's birthday party.

This is me and my handsome hubby. ( I NEVER use that word! Wow it felt more natural than I thought!)

This is typical me-wearing white to eat chocolate fondue and getting it all over me, as usual. But it came out, thank goodness! I'm loving this shirt!

I'm also rocking a sock bun. I love that trick, it's my new go-to hairstyle if I don't know what to do! I don't even do it for the waves it gives, I love the look of the big bun!

Here's some other colors I think that will look amazing for fall. But-I will say use these colors just for a pop! Not too much!

Neon chartreuse

This is Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier, love it!

And this is Julieanne Moore in Christian Dior. Some didn't like it, I loved it!

I think little pops of the neon chartreuse will be beautiful!!

Last but not least on this trend wagon (I don't know what that means, just felt good) is prints! I always love leopard so that will be awesome. But this dress from the same Kirna Zabete line from Target is AMAZING!!!!

It has a little star print, which if you have read my previous blogs, you know I LOVE stars!!! But it also has some snake print which I think will be huge as well! This is $45
This is a little combo of the mustard yellow and the snake print from J. Crew

Check back at my Stars and Stripes blog from a few days ago and there's a print and mustard yellow trend happening there too!

Ok check out my other posts and I am going to be posting daily things on here so check out daily! Some will be longer than the others, and they will be ranging from beauty trends, makeup to fashion. Whatever I'm feeling for the day!
